Is about to do or doing?
I don't think there is one universal rule for that, but in some cases it might be useful to think of to do (or more broadly, about to-infinitives) as describing a goal/purpose/plan/intention; and about doing (in other words, about gerunds) as describing an action/experience.Aug 13, 2023
